Celebrating the Season Opening
The Richmond Symphony chose the theme “Full Steam Ahead” as they began their 65th season and launched their new and exciting season of concerts, educational programs, and community events.
Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is the largest performing arts organization in Central Virginia. The organization includes an orchestra of 70+ professional musicians, the 150-voice Richmond Symphony Chorus, and more than 260 students in the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra programs. Each season, more than 200,000 members of the community enjoy concerts, radio broadcasts, and educational outreach programs.
Highlights of the 22/23 season include a ground-breaking augmented reality project, also Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, and a special concert with soloist Yo-Yo-Ma.
